the problem in China is that there are so many people, and a very large portion of them are being abused or used by the small elite portion. if violence erupted, it would be a very bad thing. China's only choice is to cap everything that would negatively impact the people's trust in their government and their country.

hopefully, China will gradually over time weed out the corruption and abuse, allowing all Chinese to have equal access to opportunities for improvement.

I'm working on one (I assume you're referring to my Chinese articles?) right now. I've begun a new routine to try and get some regularity into my life. part of that routine involves sitting down at Starbucks three times a week (even though I much prefer my own home-made coffee) and working on my Chinese articles. you should see the fruit of this new routine within the next couple of weeks.

women can be professional photographers. there's nothing that makes men better than women or vice versa. if you have an interest in it, you should at least experiment with it and see where it takes you.

mmm... I studied three years of medicine at the University of New South Wales before changing my mind and deciding to pursue pop singing in Hong Kong (a crazy thought indeed). I'm now acting for TV, sometimes for movies; becoming a better photographer with every excursion; writing Chinese and English articles for a newspaper and my blog, and still practising to become a better singer. who'd have imagined that I'd be doing all of this? and totally UNRELATED to medicine!!

I don't think it matters what you study. it only matters what you determine to do, and remember that it's ok to change your mind, any time, any where.

mmm... soccer/football... no interest. it's become one of those super peer pressure things and I don't like peer pressure. if I like it, I like it. if I don't like it, I won't 'like' it just for the sake of others that like it. there are lots of interesting things out there other than football, although I enjoyed playing it in school.

it's getting very warm over here too, at least when it's not raining (I think England left a few reminders of it with us when it returned Hong Kong to China; the rain for one ;-)

no. I'm perfectly at home here. being able to comprehend and speak the language is obviously a big factor. the fact that 80% of the population knows me is also a big factor because I feel at home no matter where I go.

the fact is, if you speak the local language, you'll get treated very well by the locals.

Tai Po is a nice place to live, although a little far from TVB.

we had a great time living out there though. those were happy days indeed.
